Active boards are gaining popularity
in these days, and they are becoming essential tool in every classroom. Using
such boards in classroom facilitate teacher explanation to the content since
she will be able to display images and modify them using a pen. Also since it’s
connected to the computer, teacher can run on applications and use them to vary
her learning style. All forms of media could be seen in the active board
Learners usually feel more comfortable when they see images about the concept
taught. Teacher feels more comfortable using this kind of boards since its
cleaner for them. Also using this board, teachers may introduce some games by
the aid of such board. This technological tool could make the education process
simpler and perhaps even more productive.
When asking many students about using the boards in classrooms, the majority students were motivated and said that their learning had benefited from the use of the Whiteboard. They liked the idea of being able to see what they were supposed to be doing rather than being shown on their own computer. They prefer the visual rather than verbal instruction. The students said their attention was more focused from having a focal point within the room. So these boards have many benefits such as the learners show increased motivation and enjoy the interaction the technology offers, It makes the subject come alive and It encourages the involvement of learners in the subject

Active board facilitate teachers explanation to the content since they will be able to display images and modify them using a pen. However working with such board require pr-steps as teaching students a little about the board and how to use it efficiently. In my opinion having such board in class makes the subject come alive and It encourages the involvement of learners in the subject, but such board cant take the place of books and teachers instruction.
ReplyDeleteWe should be aware of the limitations of the active boards used nowadays. Not all schools can include smart board due to the huge cost it needs and its necessities such as electricity. Students may also become dependent on technology when it is overused. It is difficult to engage the huge number of students when we have large classes and a smart board.
