Hyperthyroidism is caused by:

- Excessive Iodine intake
If it's not treated hyperthyroidism may cause serious problems, so whenever you feel having these symptoms consult a doctor.
I have read a lot about this problem and i noticed that few women know what it is. The symptoms you mentioned and many other symptoms such as depression leave the patient without knowledge about the case till it gets worse enough to check with a doctor. Another thing women like about this is the weight loss which they consider a positive thing. This is a misconception that we need to take care of and try to change our lifestyles to prevent such problems.
ReplyDeleteI just did a poster before about Hyperthyroidism, it's causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to add some other causes of the disease like functioning adenoma and toxic multinodular goiter, in addition to the excessive take of the thyroid hormones.
Concerning the symptoms, in addition to what you said, a patient of hyperthyroidism can also suffer from increased diarrhea, many menstrual changes appear, also muscle wasting and tachycardia, breast enlargement, localized edema, facial flushing, fine and straight hair in addition to the very important symptom which is the enlarged thyroid that appears on the patient.
Anti thyroid drugs, radioactive iodine, and surgery are the possible treatment of such condition.
Quick loss weight, nervousness, sweet alot, headache and fast heartbeat…. That’s what really happened with me. At the beginning I didn’t recognize that the thyroid gland become bigger on my neck, it was a hard stage, I always asked myself about the reason of these symptoms, and I really didn’t know anything about my case till it gets worse enough to check the doctor. The cause of Hyperthyroidism in my case was abnormal secretion of TSH, and I treated it by taking a small dose of radioactive iodine.
ReplyDeleteOnce you begin treatment, symptoms of hyperthyroidism should subside and you should start feeling much better. The Dr. should give the patient tips that help him to improve the treatment such diet have enough calcium and vitamin D.
